Are you aware that a toxic culture is the biggest force pushing talented people out of companies?
We live in a world with a fierce competition in several areas for talent, which is very excess. As a result, they can choose where they will work.
Companies need talented professionals to help create the best strategies and implement them, to simplify processes, to better understand how customers want to be served and how to delight them. To create the means for the company to reinvent itself and stay ahead of the competition.
To attract the best professionals, companies need to offer an environment that values employees, an environment permeated by trust in relationships and where there is a sense of belonging. In addition, flexible hours, growth potential and fair salary/benefits are to be expected.
None of this will succeed if leadership positions are not held by people who are aware of their role as coaches, encouragers, supporters, mentors and facilitators. People who are confident of themselves and of their potential and who are not afraid to have the best professionals by their side.
Some of the reasons that cause the loss of a talent in an organization are: lack of confidence in the work of the employee, lack of clear and objective goals, exaggerated level of demand, high level of pressure for results and lack of support and autonomy.
I prefer to think that no one is a bad leader because they want to, but because of lack of conscience and guidance. In this sense, below I present some questions to encourage your reflection,
Do you trust your team?
How do you see yourself in relation to micromanagement?
Do you contaminate or infect your team?
What is your level of emotional intelligence?
What is your ability to work collaboratively?
Can you empathize with your team?
Are you able to empower your team?
