Do you know – really – your purposes?

When you think of purpose, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Have a good salary? Build a family? Live in another country?

Having a goal is what moves us: it is through this that, daily, we find motivation to continue carrying out certain activities, linked or not to the professional, to fulfill a dream.

However, knowing how to identify our life purposes is essential for success. As I say, “An action performed without vision is just a pastime; A vision without actions to guide it is just a dream.” This means that action and desire must go hand in hand so that you can achieve what you want.

In this sense, the first step is to be honest with yourself and understand: what are my real goals? What areas of my life are they in? What can I do to win them over?

These questions, as simple as they seem, are capable of guiding very important aspects, both professional and personal. However, for the answers to be cohesive, it is necessary to analyze their reality and adapt it to their desire. There needs to be a link between what you want and the actions you take in pursuit of achievement.

In this way, it is possible for you to align your routine, your activities and your efforts in an intelligent and functional way to what you want. This will prevent, during your efforts, you focus on tasks that will not add to your achievement of what motivates you.

Having a clear purpose goes far beyond what we can imagine and, in addition, it can encompass many more aspects of our lives than we imagine. For example, when we have a professional goal – such as advancing in the career – and we work to achieve it, other areas of our life, such as personal, can benefit as well.

Human beings develop when their abilities develop. Therefore, being in tune with what you want, what you do to fulfill these desires and knowing how to delimit where to direct your efforts is essential. In this sense, the first step is, above all, to identify your real purposes and separate them from what are temporary goals.

Self-knowledge is the first step towards your achievements. But and you? Can you tell me what your life purposes are?
